COMMERCIAL BOOK PUBLISHING:
Commercial book publishing under Academy Publishing is limited to a few select literature genres, specifically science fiction and children's books.
Science fiction is divided into two broad categories: Hard sci-fi and soft sci-fi, where hard sci-fi is based on scientific fact and is inspired by “hard” natural sciences such as physics, chemistry, and astronomy. Soft sci-fi can either be science fiction that is not scientifically accurate, or science fiction inspired by “soft” social sciences like psychology, anthropology, and sociology.
Academy Publishing is preferably focussed on publishing novels based on hard sci-fi.
Children's literature. can be broadly defined as the body of written works and accompanying illustrations produced in order to entertain or instruct children. Children's literature encompasses easy-to-read stories with accompanying pictures written exclusively for children or young people. Pictures always accompany children's stories. Many successful written works produced under the category of children's literature have been written for young adults, and have also entertained the adult reading population.
Children's literature can be divided into several categories, either according to genre or the intended age of the reader.
Genres may be determined by technique, content, or length.
